The great psychedelic philosopher Terence McKenna believed the human brain to be a receiver of consciousness, rather than a generator. In other words, we have the ability to change the channel on our input device through various interventions, and thereby tap into a world of content/material from other sources.
Psychedelic medicines on their own are powerful tools that we can use as channel-changing agents, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy provides an essential "container," so that we may safely explore whatever it is we might encounter on the other side.
